Description
Forxiga is used to treat type 2 diabetes. Dapagliflozin is a sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor. It decreases the levels of sugar the body absorbs and increases the levels of sugar that leaves the body in the urine. It should be used in conjunction with diet and exercise for best results.
Your doctor will advise you about your required dosage. Take only this dosage until advised otherwise by your doctor. Forxiga is usually taken in the morning and can be taken with or without food. You may need to increase your fluid intake while taking Forxiga.
The most common side effects reported with Forxiga are a runny nose and/or sore throat. You may also experience dizziness and light-headedness. If you notice any other side effects, contact your doctor.
Forxiga may result in dizziness, light-headedness, or fainting. These effects can be worse with alcohol, hot weather, exercise, or fever. They can be reduced by sitting up or standing slowly. Do not drive or operate machinery until you find how you react to Dapagliflozin.
